Response to Israel allowing a small number of aid trucks into Gaza
Tuesday May 20, 2025
Letting in a handful of trucks won’t be enough to stop many children dying from hunger. The scale of the catastrophe demands sustained, large-scale unimpeded humanitarian access – we need hundreds of trucks entering every single day.
For over 80 days, Israel’s chokehold has severed people in Gaza from everything needed for survival – food, medicine, fuel and other vital aid. People are being systematically starved, bombed and displaced with impunity. Allowing a few trucks to trickle in only shows how tightly Israel controls the tap, and how the world continues to let it happen.
The only way to save lives is by fully ending the siege, reopening all crossings, and allowing the full flow of humanitarian aid to be restored. Using starvation as a weapon of war is a clear violation of international law and a war crime.
