Islamic Relief South Africa invites suitably qualified and experienced suppliers to submit tenders for the supply, packaging, and delivery of Ramadan and Al Fitra 2026 food hampers for vulnerable communities across selected regions.

This tender forms part of Islamic Relief South Africa’s annual Ramadan programme, which aims to provide dignified food assistance to families experiencing food insecurity during the holy month of Ramadan and on the day of Eid al-Fitr.

Scope of the Tender

Islamic Relief South Africa seeks a reliable supplier or suppliers with proven capacity to:

  • Supply high-quality food items as per the specified food pack contents
  • Package food hampers using Islamic Relief-provided packaging
  • Store completed food hampers securely
  • Deliver food hampers according to the agreed timelines and drawdown schedules
  • Food pack quantities and contents may be subject to change based on operational requirements.

Bidders may submit proposals for one or more provinces.

Ramadan 2026

KwaZulu-Natal: 2 000 food packs

Gauteng: 2 000 food packs

Western Cape: 2 000 food packs

Eastern Cape: 1 000 food packs

 

Al Fitra 2026

KwaZulu-Natal: 1 242 food packs

Gauteng: 1 242 food packs

Western Cape: 1 242 food packs

 

Key Requirements

  • Suppliers must demonstrate the ability to:
  • Meet required volumes and strict delivery timelines
  • Comply with food safety, quality, and expiry date requirements
  • Supply Halaal-compliant food items where applicable
  • Adhere to ethical business and fair labour practices
  • All non-perishable items must meet the stated minimum expiry dates as outlined in the tender document.

 

Mandatory Documentation

Tender submissions must include, but are not limited to:

  • Company registration documents
  • Valid SARS tax compliance status
  • Proof of banking details
  • B-BBEE certificate or affidavit
  • Relevant food safety, health, and pest control certificates
  • Completed tender annexures and pricing schedules
  • Failure to submit mandatory documents may result in disqualification.

 

Evaluation Criteria

Tenders will be evaluated in accordance with Islamic Relief South Africa’s procurement policies, based on:

  • Compliance with tender requirements and documentation
  • Demonstrated capacity and experience
  • Quality and compliance of proposed food items
