For a year and a half, we have witnessed some of the most horrific human rights violations and brutalities – including massacre after massacre – committed against the people of Gaza. In the early hours of 18 March 2025, Israel launched 100 simultaneous airstrikes across Gaza, killing at least 436 people (including 183 children) and injuring 678 more.
With the two-month ceasefire now unilaterally shattered, we must ramp up our efforts to provide a lifeline for the people of Gaza.
We call on you – our loyal donors and supporters – to pledge your support for our brothers and sisters during these sacred last 10 nights of Ramadan. Your du’as are invaluable, and your Zakat and Sadaqah have the power to bring relief and hope during this unimaginably trying time.
Islamic Relief has provided more than 63 million hot meals, nearly 1.3 million lipid-based nutrient supplements to help prevent malnutrition, and well over half-a-million family food and vegetable packs and food vouchers to families in Gaza throughout this bombardment. But, with Israel continuing to block aid, and the humanitarian crisis growing increasingly urgent with every passing day, we need your support to scale our response even more.
Children in Gaza are trapped in a nightmare. They have been bombed, starved and forcibly displaced. They have seen their friends and relatives killed, and their homes and schools bombed to rubble.
Throughout the bombardment, Islamic Relief has run fun and creative activities for more than 100,000 displaced children. These activities are designed to help children cope with the stress and trauma of displacement, by offering a rare moment of normality, comfort, safety and stability, through methods such as play therapy, art, music, dancing, storytelling, and establishing routines. Safe spaces are created to allow children to interact with peers and engage in structured play.
An estimated 40,000 children have been orphaned through this bombardment.
Islamic Relief’s Orphan Sponsorship Programme in Palestine has grown from financially supporting 8,750 orphaned and vulnerable children before October 2023 to now supporting 18,000 orphaned children – many of whom have been orphaned since October 2023.
This programme aims to meet children’s basic needs, including the provision of nutritious food, shelter and safety, healthcare, personal hygiene and clothes, counselling and emotional care, places to learn, social support and protection.
